Thomasville men caught trying to steal copper, deputies say

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Two Thomasville men were arrested after deputies said they caught them stealing copper from a vacant home on Wednesday. 

According to a news release from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a vacant home at 148 Gobel Road Extension after receiving a report of a possible break-in. 

Upon arrival, deputies found Daniel Ray Fowler, 21, and Eugene Albert Brewer, 36, attempting to remove copper wiring inside the home.

Both suspects were arrested and charged with breaking and entering, attempted larceny and damage to real property.  Fowler was also charged with resisting an officer. 

The suspects each have a court date set for July 27.
