Iredell County Animal Control (WSOC)

STATESVILLE, N.C. — The high temperatures are being blamed for the deaths of five dogs found dead Tuesday in Iredell County.

Officials said the dead animals were found by animal control officers and now arrested warrants are pending for four people.

Death by an animal by neglect is grounds for arrest in North Carolina even though animal cruelty is a misdemeanor.
