Fire burns golf course clubhouse near Charlotte

STALLINGS, N.C. — A fire has destroyed the clubhouse at a golf course in western Union County southeast of Charlotte.

No injuries were reported.

The fire started at the Emerald Lake Country Club in Stallings early Thursday morning.

Firefighters from two departments prevented the flames from spreading to nearby homes. It took firefighters about 90 minutes to control the blaze.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
