Asheboro duplex fire ruled suspicious

ASHEBORO, N.C. — Police are investigating an Asheboro duplex fire as suspicious. 

According to Asheboro Fire Chief Jim Smith, the blaze was reported at a vacant duplex at 312 Brookside Drive shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday. 

Smith said there was a fire in one of the units in the same duplex about three months ago. 

No injuries were reported. 

Smith did not have any information as to who owns the building.
