GREENSBORO, N.C. - An area group will hold a housing fair for area homeless on Thursday.

The Interactive Resource Center which helps people to get back on their feet will hold a housing fair at its offices in Greensboro.

Organizers say the purpose of the event is to have landlords and property owners meet potential tenants.

According to Housing Coordinator Teressa Hicks, last year’s fair helped more than 100 people be placed in homes.

"It offers them hope, in a hopeless situation when you don't where to go, when you don't know who will rent to you, this program is offering hope," Hicks said.

The housing fair will take place at the IRC located at 407 East Washington Street, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
