ELIZABETHTOWN, N.C. — A Bladen County sheriff’s deputy has been killed in a car crash while responding to a call.
Deputies said 39-year-old Deputy Dwayne Charles Hester died in a crash just before 11 p.m. Friday.
Authorities say Hester was responding to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon. No details on the crash have been released.
