RALEIGH, N.C. — Scotty McCreery is graduating from Garner High School, but fans won’t be able to see him walk across the stage unless they have a ticket.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported that last year’s “American Idol” winner graduates Thursday in a ceremony at the Raleigh Convention Center.

Wake County schools spokeswoman Samiha Khanna says no extra security will be on hand for the 8 a.m. ceremony. Each Garner High School student received eight tickets for family members and friends.

Khanna said there will be no extra security on hand for the 8 a.m. ceremony. There will be two school-system security officers, a couple of Raleigh police officers and about 15 private security guards.

McCreery plans to attend N.C. State University in the fall.
