SHELBY, N.C. — A woman is accused of castrating a man and urinating in the back of a police patrol car over the weekend in Shelby.

The Shelby Star reported that Joyce Maxine Gregory, 35, allegedly squeezed a man’s testicle out of his scrotum Saturday morning at a home on Bowman Street.

The man told police he was castrated after going outside to call 911 after the two were having an argument and Gregory grabbed his testicles.

The paper reported that the man was taken to Cleveland Regional Medical Center after walking to the Shelby Rescue Squad building for help.

Police said that a hospital urologist told them stitches could repair the man’s injury.

Gregory was found by police at the Bowman Street home and arrested. She allegedly removed her pants and urinated in the back of the patrol car.

She was taken to the magistrate’s office at the Cleveland County Courthouse and is being held without bond, the paper reported.
