REIDSVILLE, N.C. -- Deputies said property including three lawn mowers valued at more than $24,000 was stolen from a business Wednesday morning in Reidsville.

Deputies said the property was taken from Scott’s Tractor at 2019 Freeway Drive around 2 a.m.

Surveillance video showed three men loading the stolen merchandise into a U-Haul truck. Once the U-Haul was full,  the men backed a burgundy Dodge Caravan up to the building and took even more merchandise.

Stolen items included zero turn lawn mowers, chain saws, blowers, pole saws, weed eaters and hedge trimmers, officials said.

The video shows one of the men actually crawling inside the store, and handing merchandise to another man waiting outside.

Lewis Puckett,  an employee at Scott's stated this is the second time thieves have broken into the business. Puckett feels they may have to resort to  tying down equipment or disabling it.

"It makes you wonder what the world is coming too with a situation like this," said Puckett.
