GREENSBORO, N.C. – Students at a local elementary school received a special delivery from the White House.

Sumner Elementary students received a surprise-package filled with fresh fruits straight from the White House Garden on Friday.

In March, students were invited by the First Lady Michelle Obama to join in on the White House Garden Spring Planting Ceremony. The invitation was extended to the students after the class sent a letter to the First Lady about a garden they were planning at the school.

The schools’ cafeteria will prepare the vegetables for students next week.
