Taxi cab driver robbed in Winston-Salem overnight

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A taxi cab driver was robbed in Winston-Salem early Friday morning.

Police responded to the 4700 block of White Rock Road around 2:20 a.m. in reference to an armed robbery.

The victim, a cab driver, told police he was picking up two men when one of the suspects pointed a gun at his head and demanded money.

The victim grabbed the weapon from the suspect, but as a result, crashed into a fence at 4765 White Rock Road.

The suspects exited the vehicle and fled on foot toward Davis Road.

The victim was treated for a cut to his forehead.
