GREENSBORO, N.C. — After 25 years in Greensboro, the JP Looneys location on Spring Garden St. closed its doors on Monday.

The restaurant closed after “failing to come to an agreement with owners of the property” that would have allowed JP Looneys to extend its occupancy, according to Kevin McCallister, President of McCallister Restaurant Group, Inc.

“It breaks our hearts to close that location as it has been a fixture in the Greensboro community for the last 25 years. We would like to extend our everlasting thanks to all of JP Looneys Greensboro customers for their past and ongoing patronage,” McCallister said.

He said the company is making efforts to identify a new location for a Greensboro location.

This week, JP Looneys opened a new location in Kernersville on South Main Street in the Target shopping center.

McCallister said the Oak Ridge and High Point locations will remain open.
