WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The pestering had gone on for three decades, at restaurants, free outdoor concerts, ballgames, festivals, really, just about anywhere.

“When are you guys getting back together?”

Time after time, the 11 guys who made up the baddest, funkiest, most outta-sight band in all of Winston-Salem in the 1970s would shake their heads.

Not gonna happen.

Nope, the Eliminators, who, in their platform shoes, Afros and matching white suits with lapels stretched to their shoulders had rocked night clubs, Elks clubs and country clubs all over the Southeast before splitting in 1976, had no interest in a reunion.
