LOVE, NC: Fort Defiance

LENOIR, N.C. -- In the rolling foothills of Caldwell County -- not far from Blowing Rock and the Blue Ridge Parkway -- sits an 18th-century home. 

Fort Defiance, in its day, was the center of one of the largest plantations in western North Carolina.  It was also the home of Revolutionary War hero General William Lenoir.
