Winston-Salem approves 10 percent water rate hike

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Forsyth County has approved a 10 percent increase in water and sewer rates.

The average home uses 9,000 gallons of water and pays $30 a month. After the changes go into effect, that bill will increase to $34 a month.

The changes will go into effect October 1.
