CANDOR, N.C. — Police have released a surveillance image of a suspect who robbed a bank at gunpoint Tuesday in Candor.

An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen during the robbery, which happened at the Fidelity Bank at 225 North Main St. around 11 a.m.

No injuries were reported, but bank employees told police the suspect displayed a handgun during the robbery.

The suspect was described only as a black male.

At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a teal or green button-up shirt, blue jeans, and a black baseball cap with an emblem on the front.

Few other details were provided, but police said the SBI is assisting in the investigation.
