GREENSBORO, N.C. — Detectives said they believe the same people tried to rob two Harris Teeter grocery stores early Saturday in Greensboro.

The first occurred around 5:20 a.m. at the store at 1605 New Garden Road. Ten minutes later, police said there was an attempted robbery at the Harris Teeter at Battleground Avenue/Old Battleground Road.

During the first incident, the clerk told police he was forced on the ground as the men tried to steal money. They left empty-handed.
