Winston-Salem man shot 3 times in drive-by shooting

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man is recovering in the hospital after police said he was struck by gunfire three times Thursday night in a drive-by shooting in Winston-Salem. 

Ricco Lazada, 35, told police he was walking south in the 100 block of Glenn Avenue when the suspects approached from the opposite direction in a dark-colored vehicle shortly after 9 p.m.

Lazada was struck three times by gunfire from the vehicle as it drove past, police said.  Police said there were “many” shell casings found at the scene. 

The victim was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  Police said his injuries are not life-threatening. 

No ample vehicle or suspect description was provided.
