Officers cycle from Charlotte to D.C. for Police Memorial Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Several dozen police officers who are bicycling from Charlotte to Washington, D.C. stopped in Greensboro on Thursday. 

A total of 65 officers are taking part in the ride as part of Police Memorial Week, during which officers who died in the line of duty are honored. 

This year marks the sixth through which the ride has been organized. 

The cyclists are expected to arrive in Washington on Saturday.  A candlelight vigil will be held at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial on Sunday.
