HIGH POINT, N.C. -- The City of High Point is spending about $300,000 on renovations for the High Point Theatre.

Upgrades include installing LED lighting in the art galleries, which can also now be used as meeting space thanks to WiFi upgrades and privacy doors.

With the privacy doors, the theater can now hold performances and private parties at the same time.

New carpet and a concession stand is also coming to the theater.

Theater director David Briggs said it's money well spent because some items haven't been fixed since the theater opened in 1975.

The renovations should be finished by September.
