FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Three Fayetteville police officers have been placed on paid leave following a shooting that injured one man.
Authorities said police responded to a report of shots fired at around 3 a.m. Saturday.
Officers saw a man standing in a driveway holding a handgun.
Authorities said police shot the man after he refused the drop the gun and allegedly raised it at officers.
The man was taken to a hospital for surgery. His name has not been released.
State police are investigating the shooting.
