Burlington man accused of sexually abusing child

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A man accused of sexually abusing a child was arrested Saturday in Burlington.

Terry Lamont Davis, 49, of Burlington, was charged with two counts each of statutory rape and indecent liberties with a child.

Police said the allegedly crimes started in June 2009 with a victim between the ages of 10-12 years old.

Burlington police said they started the investigation Monday. They said Davis was an acquaintance of the child’s mother.

Davis was placed in the Alamance County Jail under a $200,000 secured bond. The investigation is ongoing.
