LOVE, NC: Whippoorwill Village

WILKES COUNTY, N.C. -- Whippoorwill Academy is a one-room school house that was built in the 1800s in Wilkes County.

The Whippoorwill Village is open Saturdays and Sundays from 3 to 5 p.m.  You can also schedule visits during the week by appointment.

The village’s largest festival of the year is Daniel Boone Day, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 12.
