ASHEBORO, N.C. -- A new dinosaur exhibit helped the N.C. Zoo break its attendance record for April.

Warm weather and the new animatronic dinosaur exhibit helped the zoo record 161,726 visitors this year. This is the highest number since April 2010 when over 159,000 people went to the zoo in Asheboro.

Tickets for the new dinosaur exhibit are $4 plus the regular $12 zoo admission for adults. Zoo admission is $8 for children 2-12 and $10 for adults over 62. Discounted combo tickets are also available.

Dinosaurs opened to the public on March 31 and will continue through the summer and fall.
