BURLINGTON, N.C. — A woman was charged Wednesday after police said she ran a stop sign and struck a car, killing a 77-year-old man last month in Burlington.

Torey Mcbride, 52, of Haw River, was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.

Police said Clyde Donald Sipe, of Mebane, died after the wreck at the intersection of West Front Street and Tarpley Street around 3:40 p.m. April 10.

Burlington Police said Mcbride  was traveling east on Tarpley Street and collided with a van traveling north on West Front Street.

The driver of the van and the three people in the car were all taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center to be treated for their injuries.

Police said Sipe, one of the passengers in the car, died at the hospital.
