One taken to hospital after wreck on Highway 64

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — Dispatchers say one person was taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon after a crash on Highway 64 near Asheboro.

The crash happened on U.S. Highway 64 East near Foxfire Road around 2:30 p.m.

Dispatchers said one person was taken to Randolph Memorial Hospital, but the extent of the injuries was not known.

The two westbound lanes of the highway will be closed until further notice, DOT officials said.
