Woman forced into van near Waughtown Street (Winston-Salem Police)

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police are searching for a man and a woman involved in an altercation that ended with the man forcing a woman into a minivan early Monday morning.

The altercation happened near the 1900 block of Waughtown Street. The man and woman drove up in the van, got into an argument in the parking lot and the man drove away leaving the woman.

The man then returned a short time later. A witness told police the man then assaulted the woman and forced her into the van.

The woman managed to escape the van but went back to retrieve a small child in the rear passenger area. The man then sped away with the woman and child in the back of the van.
