SUPPLY, N.C. — An employee at Brunswick Community College has been arrested under accusations that he had an improper relationship with a 16-year-old student.

Josue Juarez, 30, was arrested Monday and charged with 12 counts of indecent liberties with a minor and sexual battery.

Juarez was an information technology specialist at the school and was fired after his arrest.

Officials say the 16-year-old was a student at the Brunswick County Early College High School. The early college high school is housed on the community college’s main campus.

Juarez had been with the school since 2007. It was not clear if he has a lawyer.

School president Susanne Adams says employees are not allowed to have relationships with students.
