GREENSBORO, N.C. — UNCG’s provost is recommending the university eliminate 42 academic programs as part of a review designed to free up resources, according to the Greensboro News & Record.

According to the paper, UNCG is considering cutting 42 programs due to budget concerns. Among the degrees on the cut list include environmental biology, applied math and financial economics.

Right now, the cuts are only recommendations. The UNC Board of Governors must approve the cuts.

The recommendations came down late Wednesday. There is no word yet on faculty cuts.
