Suspect wanted in Ruffin convenience store robbery

RUFFIN, N.C. — Rockingham County deputies are looking for a suspect in connection with a robbery Thursday at a convenience store in Ruffin.

The incident happened around 5:10 p.m. at the Big Bubble convenience store at the intersection of Oregon Hill Road and Mt. Carmel Church Road.

Deputies said a man wearing a black ski mask and showing a gun demanded money. The suspect fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money, deputies said.

The suspect vehicle was described as an 80s model, dark green Jeep Cherokee with black wheels. The suspect was described as a man about 5’9″ to 5’10” tall and around 160 pounds. The suspect was wearing dark blue shorts and a light blue hooded sweatshirt, police said.
