ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — A registered sex offender was arrested after Alamance County deputies allege a Facebook page showed she was on the playground of Burlington City Park.

Amanda Jean Anderson, 36, of Elon, faces five total counts. The arrest came as the result of an investigation that began in November, Alamance County deputies said.

Deputies allege Anderson not only failed to register with the Alamance County Sheriff’s office but also had a Facebook page, as well as several online identifiers.

After executing a warrant on the social network page, deputies allege the page revealed she was on the property of a playground in Burlington City Park.

Anderson was charged with being a sex offender on child premises, being a sex offender using a social network and three counts of failing to register as a sex offender.

She was held under a $150,000 secured bond.
