WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police said Winston-Salem’s city manager was involved in a car wreck after he collided with the back of another vehicle Wednesday morning in Winston-Salem.

Lee Garrity, 50, allegedly struck Eric Williams, 37, in a vehicle at a stop sign around 8:49 a.m. in the 400 block N. Marshall Street.

Police said Williams and his passenger were taken to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for minor injuries. Police said both vehicles received an estimated $150 in damage.

Garrity was cited for failing to reduce his speed. Williams was cited for driving without an operator’s license.

Police said neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the accident.
