MONTGOMERY COUNTY, N.C. — Officials said some children were taken to the hospital after a school bus crash Wednesday morning in Troy.

Lindsay Whitley, spokesperson with Montgomery County Schools, said 24 students were riding the bus at the time of the crash, which happened on Robedo Road around 7:35 a.m.

No other vehicles were involved.

The students were being taken to West Middle School and West Montgomery High School, Whitley said.

There were no life-threatening injuries, but Whitley said “a few” students were taken to an area hospital to be evaluated as a precaution.

State troopers are investigating the crash, but few other details were immediately available.

Whitley said officials have been working to notify parents.
