6 hurt after car, light rail train collide in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Six people were taken to hospitals Wednesday night after a car and a light rail train collided in Charlotte.

The wreck happened around 9 p.m. south of downtown. WSOC-TV reported none of the injuries were life-threatening.

Three of the people injured were in the passenger vehicles, while the others injured were on the train, police said.

Police said the car was pushed into the moving train by another vehicle. Photos from the scene revealed a wrecked car and a wrecked SUV.

The crossing guards were down at the time of the train crash, police said.
