GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A green space in downtown Greensboro will have a new look by the fall.

Downtown Greensboro Inc. announced plans to redo the landscaping at Hamburger Square Park at the corner of McGee and Davie streets, near Natty Greene's Pub.

The park will get new flowers and shrubs, as well as a more defined walking path. The goal is to make the park prettier, and planners said that would also make the park more useful.

"Green space is so important to a downtown urban setting that we do want to enhance and celebrate the green space that we do have," said Ed Wolverton with Downtown Greensboro Inc.

The project will cost a couple thousand dollars and will be paid for with city funds. The project should start this summer.
