TOM RIVER, NJ — A New Jersey couple is suing their landlord after they said the home they’re renting is haunted.

Asbury Park Press reported that Josue Chinchilla and his fiance Michele Callan claim the house at 100 Terrace Ave in Toms River has moving doors, flickering lights and strange voices that whisper “let it burn.”

The couple said a ghost started pulling Chinchilla’s sheets off the bed and a dark ghostly figure was in the bedroom.

They said they had no choice but to flee the property and are hoping to get their $2,250 security deposit back.

The landlord denies the couple’s claims that the home is haunted. The couple also has two children.

An investigator from NJ Paranormal Investigators also claims the home is “the site of an active or intelligent haunting,” Reuters reported.
