Officials: No injuries in small Winston-Salem house fire
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — No injuries were reported after officials said a fire started at a home’s front porch and staircase Wednesday morning in Winston-Salem.
Authorities said the small fire was reported at 4220 Mineral Ave. around 3:13 a.m. Several firefighters had the blaze under control within about 20 minutes, officials said.
Authorities estimated about $2,000 in property damage. Officials said the flames did not spread to the home’s living area and the building’s utilities were not damaged.
Officials said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
The home’s occupant did not want services of the Red Cross, officials said.
