NC man charged with starving puppies

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man is accused of intentionally starving a litter of pit bull puppies.

The Raleigh News & Observer reported that Michael Jackson, 35, was charged with nine misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals on Thursday morning.

Police said they obtained warrants for his arrest Monday after discovering nine four-week old puppies in need of food at his home.

Jackson was place in the Wake County jail and is being held in lieu of $4,500 bail, court records show.
