CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — UNC’s James Michael McAdoo said he’ll return to school for his sophomore season.

The 6-foot-9 forward from Norfolk, Va., was considering whether to enter the NBA draft.

McAdoo improved significantly late in the year with more minutes after junior John Henson missed three games with a sprained left wrist. McAdoo had 15 points in the NCAA regional final loss to Kansas.

He was regarded as a possible first-round pick when he entered college. In a statement from the school Thursday, McAdoo said he had several conversations with family and coach Roy Williams before opting to return to school.

His father, Ronnie, had said last week that his son had “every intention” of returning to school and that he just wanted to review his options.
