NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C. — Three days after Tim Tebow was introduced at his first news conference as a quarterback for the New York Jets, his mother came to Wilkes County to help raise money for a pregnancy care center.

Pam Tebow told the “God stories” she has been telling to anti-abortion audiences across the country since she gained a national voice through her son’s rising football stardom and her own fame through their Super Bowl commercial together in 2010.

“This is a ministry of kindness,” she told the sold-out audience Thursday night at the Stone Center in the Wilkes County Schools complex, site of the fourth annual fundraising banquet for the Wilkes Pregnancy Care Center.

“Every girl who walks in that center is treated with kindness, and God will be kind back,” she said.

She sang a lullaby adapted with the words to Psalm 139, about being “fearfully and wonderfully made.”
