Woman found dead at Forsyth Co. Jail

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A woman was found dead at Forsyth County Jail in Winston-Salem after detention officers said she was being unresponsive Saturday morning.

Dusty Lynn Manning, 36, was pronounced dead shortly after 7 a.m., according to Forsyth County officials.

Authorities said the cause of death is yet to be determined and an autopsy is planned for Monday or Tuesday.

Manning was charged with concealing merchandise and admitted to jail at 11:50 a.m. Friday.

Officials said detention officers and medical staff tried to revive her but were unsuccessful.
