DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — A man on a motorcycle died after colliding with a truck Thursday afternoon on Old U.S. Highway 64 West almost four miles west of Lexington.

The Lexington Dispatch reported that Kenneth Dale Hutchins, 56, of Lexington, was headed east when a truck turning left off E.L. Myers Road struck him around 3:13 p.m.

Highway Patrol said Hutchins and his 1986 Honda motorcycle made contact with the 2008 Chevrolet Silverado Truck at the intersection.

Hutchins was thrown airborne and came to rest in the eastbound lane of Old U.S. Highway 64 West, the paper reported.

Paramedics reportedly tried reviving him using CPR on the way to Wake Forest Baptist Health but were unsuccessful.

No charges have been filed against the truck’s driver and the investigation is ongoing, the paper reported.
