Car hits school bus in Winston-Salem; 3 kids taken to hospital

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Authorities say three children were taken to the hospital as a precaution after a school bus was hit from behind by a car Thursday morning in Winston-Salem.

Police at the scene said a car hit the back bumper of the school bus as it was turning left onto Lexwin Avenue from Cornell Boulevard around 8 a.m.  The bus picking up children for Griffith Elementary School.

Two children from the school bus and one child from the car were taken to the hospital as a precaution for minor injuries, police said.

No charges are being filed and the damage to the bus was minor.
