BURLINGTON, N.C. — A Burlington man accused of grabbing a woman’s buttocks multiple times at an Alamance County Walmart has been arrested.

Donald Michael Poteat, 47, was taken into custody without incident on Friday, Burlington Police said. He was charged with sexual battery.

The first alleged incident happened Oct. 12 at the Walmart on Graham Hopedale Road. A 35-year-old woman reported the suspect grabbed her buttocks multiple times, police said.

Police said they believed another butt-grabbing incident happened at the same store sometime after the first incident. However, the second alleged victim couldn’t be found by either police or Walmart personnel, police said.

Poteat was placed in the Alamance County Jail under a $1,500 secured bond.
