West Wilkes teacher to be inducted into Hall of Fame ‎

MILLERS CREEK, N.C. — A West Wilkes High School teacher is among five teachers in the United States to be inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame this year in Emporia, Kansas.

The Winston-Salem Journal reported that English and photojournalism teacher James Brooks was part of the Class of 2012 announced Thursday. Members were chosen by a selection committee that met last month.

The five inductees will be honored May 9 at a reception at the National Education Association headquarters in Washington. They will be in Emporia June 13-15 for various events including the induction ceremony.
