NEW YORK — Employees reportedly prevented Robert De Niro from entering his own hotel in New York.

The actor, who is known for getting deep into character, was preparing for his role as a homeless writer for the recently-released “Being Flynn” when he tried to go inside his own luxury hotel in Manhattan, according to KIAH-TV.

The problem arose when employees at the Greenwich hotel did not recognize De Niro, who was dressed as if he was living on the streets.

De Niro was so happy that he fooled his own hotel workers that he “found it hard to contain his joy,” the station reports.
