DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — A Lexington man was charged Monday for possessing moonshine.

According to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office, Thomas Scott Everhart, 38, was arrested for possession of non-tax paid alcohol.  He was released on a written promise to appear in court.

Deputies said they investigated Everhart’s home on Early James Road after receiving a tip.  An active liquor still and four jars of moonshine were found in an outbuilding outside the home, deputies said.
