CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Three people were injured after a tornado ripped through Charlotte Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

WSOC reported that the storm caused severe damage to homes on Brookstead Drive near the Reedy Creek Plantation area before moving into Cabarrus County.

Roofs were torn off the houses and vehicles were flipped over. The width and category of the tornado is still being determined.

The current condition and severity of the injured victims remains uncertain.
