Pedestrian killed in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a truck while crossing the road Friday night in Winston-Salem.

Steven Darrell Tuttle, 64, of Winston-Salem was crossing New Walkertown Road near Jackson Avenue around 7 p.m. when struck by a 1977 Dodge truck, police said.

Tuttle was pronounced dead after being taken to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.

Johnny Lee Senn Jr., of Winston-Salem, was the driver and owner of the truck. Police did not say if he faces charges.

This is Winston-Salem’s third traffic fatality of 2012.

The investigation is ongoing and no further details were released.
