CARY, N.C. — A man walked into police headquarters and said he sexually molested a handicapped child who was in his care for nearly a year over the weekend in Cary.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported that Marc Anthony Johnson, 32, of Cary, was charged with two felony counts of indecent liberties with a child and one felony count of attempted first-degree sex offense, according to warrants.

The abuse allegedly happened May 1, 2011, through Feb. 11 while Johnson was serving in a parental role for the autistic child.

Officials said the child was molested at 10 years old.

Johnson was placed in the Wake County jail Wednesday under a $2 million bond.
